Texas legend Opal Lee made an appearance at a popular Dallas church and delivered some inspirational messages for Black History Month.
Lee’s historic walk from Fort Worth to Washington, D.C. helped lead to the establishment of Juneteenth as a national holiday.
“I just decided, me walking in my little tennis shoes from here to Washington, somebody would take notice,” she said.“It ain’t no Black museum, it’s not a Texas museum, it’s a national museum,” she said of the project.“If we don’t do something about climate change, we’re all going to hell in a handbasket.”
