The woman was hit by a car heading north on Interstate 880, just north of Stevens Creek Boulevard in San Jose, on May 14, the Santa Clara County medical examiner-coroner’s office said in a news release. She appeared to have been between the ages of 40 and 50, stood just over 5 feet tall and weighed 110 pounds, officials said. The woman had medium-length gray and red hair and no visible tattoos.
Her cause of death remains under investigation, and forensic attempts to identify her were unsuccessful, officials said. Forensic artists created sketches of the woman in hopes of aiding any members of the public who may recognize her.
