His Majesty’s Inspector of Constabulary said he had 'concerns' about how the force keeps people safe
Nottinghamshire Police has been found to be inadequate in three areas of inspection in a report by His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary & Fire. The assessment, published on Thursday, July 11, graded the force across eight categories.
"I have some concerns about the performance of Nottinghamshire Police in keeping people safe, reducing crime and providing victims with an effective service," he said. "In particular, I have serious concerns about how well the force manages crime, and how it manages its performance and identifies areas that need improvement.
In its "Reducing Crime" section, the report says that the force needs to make sure it attends non-emergency calls faster, which it doesn't always do and thus misses opportunities to safeguard the public and reduce crime. It added that the force must "urgently improve how it manages and investigates crime. It needs to achieve better outcomes for victims".
