Nottinghamshire Police says an investigation is underway into the incident on Exchange Walk
Nottinghamshire Police says an "altercation" near Nottingham's Old Market Square led a busy shopping street to be cordoned off for hours. Officers were seen early on Saturday guarding a cordon that began at the entrance to Exchange Walk.
The cordon reportedly stretched back all the way to the Marks & Spencer store on Albert Street. Nottinghamshire Police has now confirmed that officers were called to reports of a disorder. A spokesperson for the force said: "A group were reportedly involved in an altercation in Exchange Walk, near Old Market Square, just before 4.35am. Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured during the incident, although inquiries are still ongoing."An investigation is currently underway to establish exactly what happened during the incident and who was involved.
