Nottingham City Council's executive board has been advised to approve the sale of a historically significant property, a year after its last attempt was thwarted. The property includes the Guildhall, a 19th-century building that was once home to the city's Magistrates' Court, fire and police stations.

Nottingham City Council 's executive board has been advised to approve the sale of the property on Tuesday, February 13, a year after its last attempt was thwarted. This recognised the Art Deco structure built from 1938-1940 as historically significant and protected it from demolition, forcing the council and the prospective buyers to the negotiating table.

A year since that failed attempt, Nottingham City Council's executive board has now been advised to approve the sale of the property on Tuesday, February 13. Despite the recent inactivity and decline in the condition of the structures, they are steeped in history. The 19th-century Guildhall was once home to the city's Magistrates' Court along with the former fire and police stations and was later occupied by Nottingham City Council.
