The South Eastern Trust has said that due to the severe weather conditions, a rainwater pipe in its Inpatient Ward became blocked which resulted in a number of the rooms suffering water damage.
It has said that it is working to address the problem as soon as possible and that the patients who have been affected have been moved to other areas of the hospital.Storm Ciarán has caused disruption across Northern Ireland, with flooding reported in Belfast, Newry and Downpatrick. A South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust spokesperson said: "Due to the severe weather conditions, a rainwater pipe became blocked in our Inpatient Ward Block at the Ulster Hospital, which resulted in some water damage to a small number of rooms.
"All elective surgery has continued as normal and patients who were affected have been moved to other areas of the hospital."We would like to thank everyone for their continued patience and understanding."
