It would appear not everyone is impressed with the new shelters that have popped up along Preston Road 🚌
In the comments section one person said they weren’t happy with the Council not carrying out a public consultation: “Save your money and tell them to stop. They are horrendous. They’ve made the village look awful. Thanks for asking residents about this and what our thoughts are.”
Another said: “Nice of the village to ask the residents I would of been happy to contribute to the upkeep of the old bus shelters as would of all the village.”There were also people who understand the practicality of the new bus shelters despite the picturesque look of the wooden ones. One person said: “I liked the look of the wooden ones but agree with the decision to replace them. You can actually stand inside and watch for the bus coming when it’s raining and pitch black at 7.30am. And there’s no spiders in these ones.”
Another said: “Although I agree wooden ones look better, but they weren’t fit for purpose. My daughter who uses them regularly says far better because bus drivers can actually see people in them and they can keep dry .”
