Work is underway to move the group on
Several caravans have pitched up on green space next to the £49m Gedling Access Road. A group of travellers have set up on land off the road, since named Colliery Way, near Gedling Village.
Councillor Mike Adams, who represents Carlton East for the Conservatives on Nottinghamshire County Council, and who also sits on Gedling Borough Council, was the one who first reported the encampment. Councillor Adams said: "I was the first to report it. "I contacted Gedling Borough Council and made them aware and Nottinghamshire County Council are aware as well. The teams are looking to communicate and try and organise the leaving of the site."
