The group carefully planned their stealing expedition
Three stay-at-home mums went on a shoplifting spree at two retails parks and a shopping mall whilst on a girlie day-trip do some “serious thieving” ahead of Christmas.
The women tried to flee back to their homes in the West Midlands in a Nissan Qashqai but were arrested after security officials at one of the retails parks were able to identify the car involved in the thefts via CCTV and passed the registration number onto police. Mother of one Griffin, a former beauty salon receptionist pleaded guilty to one charge of theft of goods to the value of £1,340 from Next.
“When the defendants leave they enter a Nissan Qashqai. This registration was followed and the vehicle was stopped with the defendants found in the vehicle. Items were also found which still had their tags on and these were returned to Next.' Sentencing the three women, Ian Williams, Chairman of the magistrates’ bench, said: “We did look into this offending in depth and we do feel there were serious elements to this - not least the fact it was planned.
