A mum who tragically died after being hit by an HGV has been named by police.
Una Brandreth from the Stafford area in England passed away following the horror crash on Manse Road at the junction with Drymen Road in Bearsden on Tuesday, March 19.999 crews rushed to the scene, however, the 56-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead.They said: “Una was a much-loved, sister, mother and daughter, and will be much missed by everyone who knew her.
“We are asking for privacy at what is a very difficult time for us all as we come to terms with our loss. “We would like to say that we are massively grateful to all the emergency services that were involved in this tragic incident and to everybody else that stopped to help Una.”Now, officers are continuing to appeal for information on the crash, which happened shortly after 8am.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Una’s family and friends. “We are asking anyone who has not yet spoken to officers but who may have information that can help with our investigation, such as dash-cam footage, to get in touch.”added:"Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0590 of Tuesday, March 19, 2024."Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.

Cyclist dies after being hit by HGV near GlasgowA cyclist has tragically died after being hit by an HGV near Glasgow. Emergency services raced to the scene on Manse Road, near the junction with Drymen Road, in Bearsden at around 8.10am on Tuesday. A 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene with the road closed by police for around five hours. The male driver of the heavy goods vehicles was uninjured. Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and officers are appealing for information.
