Padres prospect Jackson Merrill plays first pro game in left field in Double-A San Antonio's loss
under control through at least 2024, the 20-year-old Merrill is sure to bounce around on the diamond and his first professional game in left field on Thursday.
More to the point, Merrill homered and swiped home in Double-A San Antonio’sto Midland in another effort that shows that the Padres will have no problem finding a place for Merrill’s bat.He is hitting .313/.367/.496 with three homers, 21 RBIs and five steals in 28 games since his promotion to the Texas League.
