Brandon Dixon homers three times for El Paso; prospect Nerwilian Cedeno's second homer with Fort Wayne is a walk-off job
The 31-year-old journeyman hit three homers and drove in eight runs, leading Triple-A El Paso to aDixon’s 23-homer campaign in the high minors last year forced the Padres to add him to the roster last fall, ahead of their postseason run.
He was even added to the wild-card roster, but did not get into a game and was hitting .204/.240/.323 with two homers in 38 games over parts of two seasons in the majors with the Padres when he was designated for assignment at the trade deadline as the team looked to upgrade its bench. Dixon cleared waivers and was outrighted back to Triple-A El Paso, where he is hitting .269/.361/.527 after a four-hit game on Wednesday that included a double.
