Monty Python star Michael Palin has spoken out about his life without his beloved wife Helen, who passed away shortly after their 57th wedding anniversary
Monty Python comic Michael Palin, 80, has shared his deep sadness after the loss of his wife Helen Gibbons just a few weeks after they marked their 57th wedding anniversary in May last year.
Helen, who shared three children with Michael - Thomas, William, and Rachel, - was 80 when she died on May 2, 2023. She had kidney problems and was in a lot of pain before deciding to end her treatment with the support of her family and doctors, reports The Mirror. Michael also recently opened up about his time on Monty Python, working with Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle and Terry Jones.
"We are not that close, but when we get together, we talk about 'that thing' as if it was like a long affair from years ago, and we get rather tearful. Python is still selling around the world, not what it used to, it achieved success that none of us would have dreamed of."
