The yellow Met Office warning covers large parts of England, Wales and Northern Ireland
A thunderstorm warning has been issued by the Met Office which covers a huge part of the UK this weekend. The 10-hour warning comes into place at midday on Sunday and will remain in force until 10pm.
The alert says that many areas will miss the heaviest downpours - but that some places could see 30-40mm of rain in the space of an hour or two, possibly accompanied by some hail.
