Five days later, officers visited 28-year-old Azzi's home on Simons Croft in Netherton. There, they found Battaher - of no fixed address - present and detained him. They then smoked cannabis in Azzi's room, while the two men also took cocaine and ketamine and used a translator app on their phones in order to talk to her. The teen reported she had had sex with Battaher, who is also known as Amime Behre, on one occasion before he left and went home.
Mr Scholes also stated that there was "no reliable date of birth" for Battaher, although he was assessed as being aged between 21 and 25. The date of birth provided to the court however would make him 29. Appearing remotely from HMP Liverpool, he was today jailed for six-and-a-half years. Seated beside him in the video link both, Battaher put his head in his heads as he was locked up for five-and-a-half years.
