Still, Amelia Rami felt something was missing when it came to online after hours.
A regular on New York's dance party circuit since she moved to the city back in 2015, Rami found herself in need of an outlet once the shelter-in-place order was issued back in March. “Every day, I was at home posting that I wanted to go out and perrea, which is what you call when you dance Reggaeton or Latin music," she says. “A friend of mine was like, why don't you just start a Zoom party, and I thought that was such a smart idea."aka Cybernetic Dance is all Rami.
With six consecutive weekly parties and counting, Perreo Cibelnetico has grown from a handful of Rami's friends to an International get together. “There are a lot of people from Argentina who are in a different time zone, so they’re staying up late. Then people from Spain who join us when it's three in the morning there,” says Rami. “People are coming through.
