A 26-year-old, Eyuemeyar Mazon, was arrested and charged with multiple marijuana offenses.

A Hudson County court officer conducting an eviction at an apartment building within yards of a Jersey City grammar school was stunned to find a makeshift marijuana-growing facility inside an apartment, authorities said.

Jersey City police were called to 630 Bergen Ave., between Jewett and Belmont avenues, and they arrested 26-year-old Eyuemeyar Mazon on multiple marijuana offenses, including operating a drug manufacturing facility and operating it within 500 feet of a school. Police responded to the school at approximately 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, just as School 17 next door was dismissing students.

Upon arrival, police found 18 planter pots containing suspected marijuana, fertilizer, equipment for plant growing, and various amounts of psilocybin mushroom. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
