The new Man Utd part-owner is keen to use public money to build a stadium in the north of England that's capable of matching Wembley
Sir Jim Ratcliffe's intention to use public money to build a 'Wembley of the north', which would also act as Manchester United's new stadium, has divided the crowd.
"The north-west of England has a greater concentration of major football clubs than anywhere else in the world, yet we don’t have a stadium on the scale of Wembley, the Nou Camp or Bernabeu," said Ratcliffe last week, as he laid out his plans. The second question brought about a 'yes' answer in the majority, with 54 per cent of the belief that the north of England should have a stadium of the size and, as Ratcliffe put it, the "scale" of Wembley.
