Police want to ensure the man's safety
Motorists have been stopped in both directions on the M621, near Elland Road, Beeston, while West Yorkshire Police officers attend to ensure the man's safety. The ongoing incident has been occurring at a bridge near at junction two from before 3pm today .
Traffic has been stopped on the eastbound carriageway from junction 1, Beeston, to junction 2, Elland Road, and on the westbound carriageway from junction 2a, Holbeck, to junction 2, Armley.Traffic is being diverted via the roundabout causing heavy congestion and delays in the area. National Highways has urged drivers to go a different route.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "This is an ongoing incident relating to a report of a concern for safety for a man on a bridge. Road closures have been put in place while emergency services work to bring this incident to a safe conclusion."
