The defender is on a season-long loan at Middlesbrough and is expected to leave the club in the summer
Luke Ayling's time with Leeds United may be coming to an end, but there's no doubting where the popular defender's loyalties lie. The veteran full-back joined Middlesbrough on loan in the January transfer window and, with his contract expriring in the summer, there's a fair chance he has played his last game in Leeds United colours.
The 32-year-old still has a close bond with this squad, of course, having spent eight years with the club, and was pictured among the fans before kick-off today. He will be one of the many hoping Daniel Farke's men can go top of the Championship today with a win, with Leicester in FA Cup action at Chelsea.Ayling has been a big hit on Teesside and Carrick knows a decision on his future is pending. For now, though, he is happy to have someone of his experience.
"I think he has shown his experience really. He's been in this situation, he's seen it, he knows what it takes.
