Police officers rushed to the scene on Glasgow Road at around 1pm on Monday and were allegedly chased by the man, who was holding what is understood to be a chainsaw.
A 30-year-old man has been charged following a major incident in Paisley involving a weapon, believed to be a chainsaw, on Monday afternoon, May 6.
Emergency services responded to an alleged disturbance on Glasgow Road after a collision involving a car and stationary police vehicle. Videos and images seen by Glasgow Live show a police car smashed into a nearby wall.
