Luke McCowan's free-kick was the difference in Dundee
Livingston were edged out by a sublime Luke McCowan free-kick as they fell to a fourth defeat in a row thank to a 1-0 loss in Dundee.
The visitors went into the game on the back of three straight defeats but they started brightly and took the game to Dundee. For all they enjoyed plenty of territory and possession, though, they fluffed their lines at crucial moments and were unable to make the most of chances created. Livi squandered the best chance of the first half on 37 minutes when James Penrice's enticing delivery from the left was met at the back post by Joel Nouble, but the Englishman was unable to steer the ball the correct side of the crossbar for his liking.
They caught a break when Sean Kelly's red card for a challenge on Zak Rudden as the striker ran through on goal was correctly rescinded with Mick Devlin having been providing cover. However, the resulting free-kick expertly found the top corner from McCowan as he curled the ball beyond Jack Hamilton from 25 yards.
