Police Scotland have confirmed that an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old at Dens Park during the Dundee vs Rangers clash has been launched
An investigation has been launched by Police following the alleged sexual assault during the Dundee vs Rangers game on November 1.
Dundee Football Club have confirmed that the reported incident took place in the Bob Shankly stand where the away fans were situated. The match was marred in controversy after pyro set off in the Gers end led to referee Kevin Clancy stopping play for 18 minutes as smoke swarmed the pitch. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are carrying out enquiries following an allegation of sexual assault involving a 13-year-old girl which happened at Dens Park in Dundee on Wednesday, 1 November, 2023.”A spokesperson from Dundee FC said: "Dundee Football Club can confirm we are aware of an incident which took place in the Bob Shankly stand during Wednesday’s match against Rangers.
"The club are fully supporting the Police investigation and the club’s Child Welfare and Protection Officer is supporting the situation. As this is an ongoing police investigation the club will be making no further comment."
