The Speke-based airport was found to be 'in need of improvement'
Liverpool John Lennon Airport said it is “disappointed” after an annual report said it needed “improvement”. The UK Civil Aviation Authority’s latest accessibility report ranks every UK airport - with an annual passenger volume of more than 150,000 - on its accommodation and treatment of passengers with reduced mobility and disabilities. This year, against a backdrop of stronger demand for assistance services, 11 airports were rated ‘very good’ and 12 airports were rated ‘good’.
“For the first measure, we exceeded the European standard of greater than 98% of passengers being provided the required service over a rolling 12-month period, which would by itself, attract a ‘very good’ rating. 'However, for the second measure, we did not receive enough post-experience surveys from our customers to achieve a higher rating, which we have discussed with the CAA and ABM and they have immediately made changes to rectify this area.
