Thelin will become the club's 25th permanent manager when he succeeds Barry Robson in the Granite City on June 3.
Jimmy Thelin believes he is a "perfect match" for Aberdeen and has promised to try and deliver front-foot attacking football for the Red Army next season.
In an interview with Red TV, he said: "I have always had good dialogue with the club and the director Stefan about finding a good solution when the right club came with an approach. The feelings I have got from Aberdeen, the fans and the support from Dave , Alan and Steven made it feel like a good opportunity.
"I really feel like this is a perfect match, The timing is good and hopefully with the staff and everyone around the club we can become a part of their history."
