The legendary guitarist Jeff Beck has died, aged 78, after suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, his family said in a statement. He was a former guitarist with The Yardbirds and is considered one of the most influential players ever. Read more:

US rock band Hollywood Vampires, comprising of Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen, also paid tribute to Beck via social media, describing him as a"true innovator". "Half a century later Jeff Beck is still the greatest guitarist, PERIOD - The greatest of all time. He was a friend, and there will NEVER be another Jeff Beck. Ever."
