The Everton centre back has been named as part of the England U21s squad that will play Northern Ireland at Goodison Park later this month
Jarrad Branthwaite will represent England on home turf after being selected for the Under-21s’ upcoming clash at Goodison Park.
It marks a continuation of his progress after a year that has seen him break into senior football and win domestic and international silverware. Branthwaite’s selection was made as he continues to impress U21s boss - and former Blue - Lee Carsley. Having been part of the squad that clinched the European Championships over the summer, his inclusion was expected, though his startling form had led to some speculation he was on the verge of the senior international squad.
