Jada Pinkett Smith says family is 'focusing on deep healing' after husband Will's infamous Chris Rock slap
Jada Pinkett Smith mentioned the now infamous incident involving her husband Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at The Oscars on first episode of Red Table Talk. Though she did not elaborate much further she did promise that it will be addressed some time on the chat show in the future. The 50-year-old media personality did not speak on the matter but did release a written statement at the beginning of the episode.
Though the show promises 'powerful and healing conversations,' there's no hint in the trailer that they will discuss Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. Will was barred from attending the Oscars for ten years after attacking Chris on-stage at this year's Academy Awards - minutes before he won Best Actor. Jada, daughter Willow Smith, and mom Adrienne Banfield-Norris will interview Janelle Monáe, Kim Basinger, and Kim's daughter, Ireland Baldwin this season.
