An exciting new spot which recently opened near Glasgow has scooped the prestigious New Restaurant Of The Year prize at the 16th annual Scottish Curry Awards.
The team behind a top restaurant close to Glasgow were left delighted last night after being named the New Restaurant of The Year at a top awards event.
Now, they've been named the Best Newcomer to Scotland’s thriving curry scene, just seven months after opening, with delighted mum and boss Tina Birk stating: “We are thrilled by this latest honour and the most touching part of it is the organisers said we had a HUGE number of nominations from the public.
“People have really embraced that and I think it’s what keeps them coming back…as well as the food of course.” “The Malletsheugh is a dream we have had for as long as I can remember. Thank you to the people of Glasgow and Ayrshire for making it come true, and then some. The family-run restaurant sees Tina and her sons, Pavan, Aman, Bobby and Rohan all working in the restaurant and their Baba Shora, being a dish created in ode to their grandfather who started the family off cooking traditional Indian cuisine for Glasgow audiences.
