You don't need your umbrella quite yet: Before the rain hits, chilly, dry weather is in the forecast. Overnight temperatures dropped into the 40s across the region overnight, and afternoon highs are expected to reach the 50s and 60s this afternoon. It's expected to get even colder, with overnight lows Monday night into Tuesday morning dipping into the 20s to 30s in inland areas and hovering in the 40s along the coast. Similarly cold temperatures are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday.
"This will set the stage for areas of frost across many inland areas with a freeze likely for the North Bay Valleys, southern inland Monterey County, and for much of San Benito County," the weather serviceIncreasing potential for impactful rain on Thursday into early Friday. Good odds for 1"+ for the North Bay and Coastal Ranges. A bit less for the inland valleys. Rain should return for the weekend with less confidence in timing and amounts.
