Temperatures will plummet to the high 30s in some areas
Bay Area residents will need to bust out their holiday sweaters and then umbrellas as a bout of cold weather is expected to land in the region followed by rain.
Starting Tuesday morning and continuing into Wednesday, both the South and East Bay will drop into the low 40s to upper 30s — with frost expected in Gilroy, Livermore and Concord. Temperatures could drop to the low 30s farther inland in both areas, according to National Weather Service Meteorologist Dalton Behringer.Frost and freezing temperatures are possible for some inland areas this week. Make sure to protect people, pets, plants, and pipes.
