The Liverpool group's owner, TJ Morris, reports sales and profits have risen
A rise in sales and profits have been reported by Home Bargains ' owner TJ Morris - and the Liverpool group says it still hopes to grow to have almost a thousand stores.
Home Bargains was founded by Tom Morris in Old Swan in 1976. Today the group, which is still owned by the Morris family and led by Tom, calls itself "the largest independent grocer in the country".READ MORE: Mum faced 'permanent threat' when doctor turned up in dead of night In its latest report to Companies House, TJ Morris said turnover growth "was achieved by the opening of additional retail outlets during the year, shop re-sites and an increased contribution from existing stores."
And it added: "The company intends to increase the number of retail outlets in operation in the year to 30 June 2024, and to eventually have between 800 and 1,000 retail outlets open."
