In the short story "The Shadow Over Coast City" by Kenny Porter, Riley Rossmo, Ivan Plascencia, and Tom Napolitano from DC's Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun #1, Hal Jordan and Etrigan struggle to fend off an incursion of monstrous creatures along Coast City's boardwalk. Jordan is involved because the creature's progenitor has escaped from an Oan sciencell and Etrigan because he can sense the being's demonic nature.
Under Etrigan's direction, Jordan uses his ring to divine the demon's name as well as to supply Etrigan with the sigils and light needed to perform a binding spell.
