The award-winning FAR SECTOR team returns for a new Green Lantern Jo Mullein story in 2024's DC POWER anthology celebrating DC's Black heroes.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary The Hugo award-winning team behind DC's Far Sector series starring Green Lantern Jo Mullein is reuniting for a new story in 2024's DC Power anthology. The one-shot celebrating DC's Black heroes is returning in January with stories from across the DC Universe — including the far reaches of space.

DC will publish a 2024 edition of DC Power #1 on January 30th, just in time for Black History Month. The one-shot anthology will feature a brand-new Far Sector story from N.K. Jemisin and Jamal Campbell, the original creators behind Far Sector and fan-favorite Green Lantern Jo Mullein. The headlining story will see Jo and beloved Lantern John Stewart meet for the first time.

Along with the Far Sector story, this 104-page prestige format anthology will feature stories by John Ridley, Brandon Thomas, Cheryl Lynn Eaton, Alitha Martinez, Khary Randolph Cowan, and more. Fans will see their favorite Black characters from across the DCU, including the Signal, the Spectre , Thunder and Lightning, Bloodwynd, Val-Zod, and the Queen of the Amazons — Nubia herself.

Though Far Sector isn't the last time fans have seen Jo — she played a major role in the Green Lantern corner of the DCU before and during Dark Crisis — it's thrilling to see this particular creative team reunite to introduce their character to John Stewart, one of DC's most beloved Green Lanterns. Far Sector and Jo Mullein are two of DC's greatest successes in the past few years, and the publisher is right to continue celebrating and promoting these creators and this character.

Green Lantern Meets Green Lantern in New DC Power Story 2 Images Close DC's massive universe is home to some of the most exciting, memorable, and iconic characters in pop culture — many of them Black. With the return of Far Sector, Green Lanterns Mullein and Stewart, and, critically, DC Power, the publisher is taking an important step toward recognizing those icons.
