Delegates from all over the world gathered in Greenwich, south-east London, to discuss the future of conservative values
November 1, 2023 6:00 amIn the shadow of the O2, politicians and thinkers from around the world are currently gathering with the aim of guiding the future of globalMore than 1,000 attendees are expected at the three-day inaugural conference of the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship , which was founded earlier this year.
There was also a smattering of Tory MPs among the crowd, with Cabinet ministers Kemi Badenoch and Michael Gove set to speak alongside backbenchers Miriam Cates and Danny Kruger.they view the purpose of the conference as “creating a new global story” for conservative values. The atmosphere inside is convivial and high-brow, with string-quartet interludes between sessions and gourmet finger food on offer at lunch.
To drill home the point about the importance of present fathers, the session ends with a five-piece ensemble giving a rendition of “It’s Quiet Uptown” from the musical Hamilton – a song detailing Alexander Hamilton’s grief after his son died in a duel.
