The K-Park outfit suffred a shock defeat in the second round of the competition
Angry Mick Kennedy accused his East Kilbride side of being arrogant after a 7-0 trouncing by Tranent in the Scottish Cup inflicted the heaviest defeat in the club's history.
Kilby trailed 5-0 at the break after four goals from Cameron Ross and a Broque Watson strike, but things got worse after the interval as Watson bagged his second and Kallum Higginbotham completed the rout.He told the club media: "We can't take credit away from Tranent and I think it is important that we give them credit, because I thought they were outstanding, to a man.
"The problem is when you start well, you have so much momentum, there's so much talk about you, people start believing it and buying into it."I always say successful teams are judged when you get to the end of the season and, unfortunately, there is a wee bit of arrogance starting to creep in."We've tried to fix it the last couple of weeks and, unfortunately, we've not managed to get it out."We've not laid a glove on Tranent and we were miles off it.
