The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called out yesterday and thought they had extinguished the fire but it reignited and officers remain at the scene
Fire crews were originally called out to the blaze at Altens recycling centre in Aberdeen yesterday afternoon, July 9, and battled throughout the night.Officers originally thought they had the fire under control yesterday afternoon but they were called back at around 10pm.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed that the Aberdeen crews are being supported by colleagues from Alford, Aboyne, Banchory, Peterhead and even as far as Dundee. Scottish Water confirmed residents in the AB12 postcode and Cove Bay areas were affected by the blaze. The water body said: "As the hydrants are in use, this is causing no water, low pressure and discoloured water to the surrounding streets."
