The former US president is named in a wrongful death lawsuit, along with two men convicted in connection with the assault on Officer Brian Sicknick, filed by his partner and his estate.
The partner of a police officer who died following the US Capitol riot two years ago is suing former president Donald Trump.insurrection, when Trump supporters stormed the building, and he passed away a day later.
Officer Sicknick was guarding the Lower West Terrace of the Capitol when he was attacked with bear spray. The lawsuit states that Mr Trump's supporters believed his statement"be there, will be wild" was a call for violence.It was that day, two years ago, that Congress was meeting to formally count the electoral college votes and confirm Joe Biden had won the election, which Mr Trump refused to accept.
