First picture of pensioner who died in crash on Scots street as tributes paid to 'kindest man'
The 78-year-old passed away after he and a 67-year-old man were allegedly hit by a car on Lesmahagow Road, Strathaven at around 7pm on Tuesday, January 3.
He also helped with the creation of a statue of WWII military dog Rifleman Khan in the town. Since the tragedy, heartfelt tributes have poured in for Donald, led by South Lanarkshire Council Provost, Margaret Cooper, who confirmed in an online post that her "good friend" passed away at the scene in Strathaven on Tuesday night.
The Tudor cafe, where Donald was a regular customer, wrote: "Team Tudor, your girls and I will miss you with all our hearts. May you rest in peace."
