Though keeping mum on full details for the show, Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio teases that DaredevilBornAgain will dig deeper into its central characters. 'You guys have no idea what you're in store for with [Daredevil: Born Again.]'
According to Vincent D'Onofrio, who portrays Kingpin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Daredevil: Born Again will go deeper into its characters. While Netflix's Daredevil series won't be back for season 4, the show is getting a semi-continuation through Daredevil: Born Again, which is currently in development for Disney+.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While Daredevil: Born Again won't arrive until 2024 as part of Phase Five, D'Onofrio has already begun to share a few teases of what is coming up in the Disney+ series. During a spotlight panel at this year's Salt Lake City FanX, D'Onofrio spoke about his excitement for Daredevil: Born Again. Despite not being able to give away any spoilers, the MCU star promised everyone that the series would dig deeper into the characters than previously.
"You guys have no idea what you're in store for with [Daredevil: Born Again.] I know a little bit more than you guys, and all I can say is, during that next series, you're not going to be thinking about anything but the next episode. I promise. I'm trying to stick to the rules, so I will only say that Charlie and I are going to be given the chance to dig deeper than ever before with our characters.
However, neither of them got to establish what they have been up to since the events of Daredevil season 3, which ended on several big notes. The least information Matt gave recently was that he's still an attorney and working in Hell's Kitchen. But never once did Matt bring up how things have been going for him or with his friends Foggy Nelson and Karen Page.
While it makes sense for Daredevil: Born Again not to be a direct sequel to the Netflix series, it's also hard to imagine the writers for the new show ignoring their respective mythologies that lasted for three seasons. Because of how many years it has been between the end of Daredevil and whenever Daredevil: Born Again launches in 2024, there is a lot of exposition they can utilize to build out their larger MCU futures further, and even do flashbacks if need be.
