Love was in the air last night for one happy couple, as a chef and former Come Dine With Me winner used the huge billboards in London's Piccadilly Circus – to propose to her long-term partner. Polly Guy, 41, appeared on the Channel 4 show back in 2011, and went on to work in the famous Great British Bake Off tent, and even cook for the Royal Family to celebrate the late Queen's Golden Jubilee.
Their proposal was one of a series of notes submitted by the public that appeared on the Piccadilly screen as part of the campaign, which reveals the transformative power of storytelling, and its ability to fuel inspiration. “When I heard about the “Notes by the Nation” campaign Samsung was doing, I thought, what a great way to make an engagement memorable – and rather than waiting for a proposal from Tim, why not embrace girl power and do it myself.”
