A man tried to steal tobacco from a shopkeeper's hand before throwing items from stands on to the shop floor, police say. The incident happened at a convenience store in Montpelier Road, Lenton shortly after 6am on October 9, 2023.
Nottinghamshire Police has now issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with attempted theft and criminal damage in a shop. PC Eliot Meynell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The offender in this instance clearly had absolutely no regard for the shop staff or the damage caused.
“Retail crime has a significant detrimental impact on local businesses which are imperative to the community, so it’s appalling to hear when they have been targeted. To assist us with our inquiries, we’re keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man pictured as we believe he may have information that could aid us with our investigation.”
Anyone with information should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 86 of 9 October 2023. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
