A busy road will close for eight months as a £644,000 project is set to begin.
Gas network company SGN is investing the sum into upgrading the local gas supply network on Main Road in Condorrat, Cumbernauld.
The firm will replace existing metal gas mains and services with a modern plastic pipe with a lifespan of at least 80 years.The engineering team will move along Main Road in sections, from near its junction with Medrox Gardens, progressing northeast up to its junction with Maree Drive, where Main Road becomes Condorrat Ring Road.
For everyone’s safety, there will be a combination of road closures and temporary traffic lights depending on what is required. Stagecoach and McGill's bus services will be diverted to operate via Condorrat Ring Road, Maree Drive and the M80.“We appreciate that roadworks can be frustrating, however, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means once the work has been completed, Wootton Bridge homes and businesses will enjoy the benefits of a continued safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
