Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of Norma Reid has been informed.
Norma Reid, 80, was last seen in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire on Tuesday, November 7 and police appealed to the public for help in tracing the missing woman.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 6.45pm on Wednesday, 8 November 2023, the body of a woman was discovered in the Portlethen area of Aberdeenshire."
