The event is a showcase of folk song from across South West Scotland.
Some of Scotland’s most celebrated traditional singers are set to visit Ballantrae as part of Book Week Scotland.
The ‘Ballads at Ballantrae’ event features some of the most celebrated names in traditional singing - including BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year winner, Robyn Stapleton, alongside song researcher and singer Jo Miller. Later on, Neil McDermott explores the stories behind the local folk songs that can be found in Girvan Folk Festival’s recent Scottish Book Trust funded songbook ‘The Ballads and Songs of Carrick’.
