Blaise Taylor, a former Arkansas State football player who had reportedly joined Texas A&M’s coaching staff, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder Thursday in connection with the death of his girlfriend and her unborn child, the . Nashville police alleged Taylor poisoned his girlfriend, Jade Benning, on Feb. 25, 2023. Benning’s five-month-old fetus died on Feb.
Taylor previously worked in the Tennessee Titans’ scouting department. In 2023, he departed Tennessee to work on ’s staff as a senior defensive analyst. “Taylor worked as an analyst with the USU football program from July 1, 2023, to March 1, 2024, when he left to begin a new role at another institution,” Utah State said in a statement. March 5 that Taylor was joining Texas A&M’s staff in a defensive analyst role, though Texas A&M has not formally announced Taylor’s hiring.
