'It was getting to a stage where I was ready to end my life - I drank myself stupid'
A Belfast man has opened up about his mental health journey and how at one point he was so low he felt his life was "pointless".
"In early December 2022, a lot of things were happening - work life, and life in general, were getting to me," he said. "I almost lost my partner because of it. And there was one point where I was completely alone for three days straight and didn't know where to go. I was going home, hoping to see someone. There was nobody because I had pushed everyone away.
"She referred me through four or five mental health organisations, and that is when I found Action Mental Health. I done a self referral and told them how I have been feeling, that was hard because I was really suffering in silence. To give back to Action Mental Health, Kyle shaved his hair off in a fundraising challenge last week. Joining forces with Belfast barber Jay Millar, Kyle has raised hundreds for the charity who helped him when he was at his lowest.
