Nine dancers from the High Points Youth Ballet will compete at the Youth America Grand Prix next weekend
A group of nine talented teen ballet dancers are set to compete against some of the bets in the world at a prestigious competition in Paris next weekend.
High Points is the only school from the island of Ireland to be sending dancers to the competition, with the teens performing individual dances as well as a group performance. Georgia says: “Youth America Grand Prix is a big commitment and the world of dance is highly competitive, but getting to compete at this level, potentially resulting in recognition for our individual hard work and for ballet in Northern Ireland in general, can only be a good thing.
US dancer and the group’s coordinator Jacob Allison says the trip to Paris will be a major opportunity for the NI girls to shine on a global stage. “It’s been a big time investment, the girls who are on our competition team train with us between 20 and 25 hours a week.
