Police say four men wearing balaclavas forced their way into the property in Braehead, Bonhill.
A balaclava-clad gang left a man seriously injured after forcing their way into his home during a 'targeted' attack.
Police say they then seriously assaulted a 38-year-old man at the Braehead property before stealing from him. A major probe has been launched to trace the suspects with officers appealing for witnesses to come forward. Detective Constable Emma Chalk said: “Enquiries are ongoing to identify and trace the four men responsible for this attack, which we believe was targeted.
