Augustinus Bader The Foaming Cleanser Review: The Gentlest Deep Clean
In the past, I’ve typically used gel formulas since they tend to be the most gentle and hydrating, but they sometimes lack the cleansing power I need for a deep cleanse after a day of wearing full makeup. In my experience, I have toor use micellar water before using my gel cleanser to ensure all makeup and dirt is washed off. Foaming cleansers create creamy suds that you can work deep into pores to cut through makeup and debris.
I decided to put The Foaming Cleanser to the test after a full day of wearing makeup. Instead of wiping my face down with micellar water, I went straight into cleansing by wetting my face and applying a dime-size amount of product with circular motions. The formula quickly worked into a creamy foam, cutting through myAfter rinsing off and patting my face dry, I let my skin settle before applying any. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my face felt plump and hydrated.
For good measure I wiped down my face with micellar water to find any remnants of makeup and debris. Inspecting my used cotton pad, I saw minimal leftover makeup. My face was virtually clean—save for a few spots I missed near my hairline—and I was thoroughly impressed. At $70, Augustinus Bader The Foaming Cleanser is certainly luxury, so I've made a conscious effort to use it only on heavy-duty days when I need a deep cleanse. If you're looking for a satisfying foam formula that won't leave your skin stripped of moisture, I can't recommend it enough. As someone who is acne-prone and constantly fearing her next breakout, it gives me great peace of mind knowing that all my makeup is removed by the end of the day.
